Dominic Derby
Dominic Nyamekye Derby is a seasoned finance executive with over 15 years of experience leading and advising financial operations across multiple sectors. He began his career in 2009 with Japan Motors, where he gained foundational experience across its Construction and Elevator divisions. He joined Juwel Energy Limited in 2017 as a Financial Accountant and progressed to the role of Chief Finance Officer (CFO). In this capacity, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth and strengthening its financial resilience.
As CFO, Dominic oversees Juwel Energy’s financial strategy, treasury operations, external reporting, and performance management. A Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Practitioner, he demonstrates strong technical proficiency in taxation, financial reporting, management accounting, and corporate finance. He is an active member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana.
Beyond his leadership at Juwel Energy Limited, Dominic provides financial and governance oversight across a diverse portfolio of companies in Ghana and internationally. His portfolio spans oil and gas (JP Trustees Ltd, and JCT Global in Dubai), fintech (Juni Ghana Ltd), hospitality (TJ Foods Ltd) and healthcare (The Executive Heart Centre). Collectively, these entities generate annual revenues in excess of US$2 billion. Known for his expertise in complex product financing, he has structured and brokered transactions valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars with domestic and international banks and multinational corporations. Outside his corporate career, he serves as a non-executive partner at Assurance Hub Consult, an audit firm, and is also an avid music executive producer.
Dominic holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration (Accounting) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, an MBA in Finance from Coventry University, UK, and has completed executive training in Leading Businesses into the Future at the London Business School.
